Have you ever felt like you are being overwhelmed or that everything is just too much effort. If the answer to that is yes then perhaps seeking someone to talk to about that is going on may help.
You may wonder how talking to someone may help your situation I believe that being able to talk to someone who isn’t going to judge you for how you feel or make assumptions about you and your situation and who will listen to you and let you talk. This is very different experience and one that may feel quite different to start with but it can be incredibly liberating to talk to someone who isn’t associated to your life as it stands and can look at things from a very different perspective.
By talking you can try to explore and understand what is going on for you in your situation and you can then make a choice about the situation rather than just acting the same way that you have always done.
I work from a psychodynamic perspective ( A fuller explanation can be found on the page linked above) in essence that means we would look at the past and explore how those experiences have influenced where you are right now. With that understanding you can then make a choice to react differently or in the same way that you have in the past. There is no right or wrong answer to that dilemma but you are making a conscious choice rather than acting out of habit.

I work with individuals, also with people who are in training to become counsellors and people from the legal profession who are struggling.
